As the co-founder of the Army of Happy People the motto is
We're fucked up and we're pretty.
And soon we will calling on the Army to have fluffy fucked up fun and change OUR bubble we call San Francisco. The rest of the world is soo very messed up that the only way we can affect change is here. We feel that you can affect change with humor and by having fun with a point or concept.

Re: new motto
Mon, December 15, 2003 - 5:40 PMWe are all, each and everyone of us, fragile creatures. Broken and bent long before we've put the toys of childhood aside. We wake each morning with dread and anticipation. We make choices. We make goals. We celebrate triumphs and suffer defeats. This is story of our human family.
But it is just a story.
Excellent motto, Phatima. I lend my energies from a distance.

Mon, December 15, 2003 - 5:54 PMLOL...We're fucked up and we're pretty...that makes me smile goofily.
That sums it up so well. Not only are we fucked up but we have been fucked with and fucked over and we are still standing here...standing here laughing at those that would stop the laughter and the craziness that is life.....
Thanks Phatima, you are Phat for sure.

Re: new motto
Mon, December 15, 2003 - 6:06 PMFucked up and pretty?
Doesn't this describe the color of a shattered mosaic, half covered in vines of flowering honeysuckle.
A ruined church, overtaken and softened by natural growth and decay, becoming like a walled secret garden.
Even forgotten factory warehouses deep in disuse and decay become stately, solemn, surreal, magickal places.
Like these things...
We all try to be something, something so far out of our reach,
We all fall short of what we want, landing hard, breaking into peices in anguish and frustration.
We all transform this pain, get up, dust ourselves off, and make the best of where we are, it is here that we become so much more than what we ever could have intended to be.
That's all I have to say really, yeah I feel fucked up and pretty right now, or can I say... broken but still with my dignity and self worth intact. -

Sat, December 20, 2003 - 11:38 PM"... fluffy fucked up fun and change OUR bubble we call San Francisco"
Sounds great. A few ideas/reactions:
1) "We're fucked up and we're pretty." Would like to see that in neon.
2) "... can affect change with humor" Planning on moving from SoCal to SF. Why, you ask? Because female car park attendants in San Fernando are known as valet girls.
3) Would like to contribute to SF bubble with my bubble machine. On a nice day with a mild breeze, it's fun to park near the ocean & run it in my car with the top off. Kids & beach folks love it!!

Re: new motto
Mon, January 19, 2004 - 9:16 PMPennsylvania, the keystone state, a bit crumbled perhaps. But we have lots to be thankful for, especially our vampires. That's right, Transylvania isn't the only home for blood suckers.
Additionally we have rivers in Pittsburgh, three of them to be exact, as a result many businesses call themselves Three Rivers "fill in the blank". Fun right, but you should see the bingo games and every night they come onto whatever channel you are watching and tell you the lottery number, the excitement never ends.
The Southside of Pittsburgh has a great coffee shop/community center called the Beehive, if you are ever in Pittsburgh, stop by. I'll buy you a great cup of coffee and tell you how to avoid the vampires.

Yep, whenever someone says I'm insane, the reply is:
"Excuse me, I think you have *me* confused with the world."
Onward with the Love Crusade! It's the only way!
As my friend JD says, it's all about the love.
