Broken'

Rude is broken and will be made unbroken next week....
I have a fractured L5 Vertebrae both of the wingy parts fractured about a year ago. So go figure the only bones I have ever broken before were my toes.. So I will be going in for surgury next week, In that I don't know if I will have access to a computer on a regular basis... I don't have one. So in my absence Shutterslut is General in charge. And don't be suprised if the ARMY goes away, but it will be back with a tickle.

Alo!

My name's Alberto, I’m located in East Lansing, Michigan. I was kind of excited to see this tribe, as I'm a firm believer that what matters most in life is making positive connections with people.

A bit about myself: Im 22 and currently still in school. In the past I've studied computer science, psychology, philosophy (political and metaphysical), and religion. Currently Im working on a humanities degree with an emphasis on world religion and philosophy, hoping to teach someday. It doesn't get much better than that :)

My hobbies include camping, hiking, disc golf, and motorcycling. During the summer months my poor car doesnt even see the road - it's okay, she's old and enjoys the hiatus. I love being on two wheels - doesn't feel like I'm a passive observer on the way to my destination, feels like I'm really going.

Im a very open minded guy, and love meeting all sorts of new people. It's really pretty hard to offend or wierd me out - there's not much I haven't been exposed to. I consider myself a Christian at heart (just very recently started going to church with a friend after years away), but I hold Buddhist and Taoist beliefs very close to my heart as well. Im really not too big on labels - they gum things up more than anything.

If I run any longer, I'll probably lose your interest, assuming I've held it this long. Feel free to message me, we'll chat awhile. Having another friend never hurts, does it? Im always up to chat, debate, or babble. Your pick.

snowy nights

I have just returned from shoveling my driveway here in Pittsburgh where the snow has finally started to fall.

The city I look over from my front porch slowly melting into the snow, first a backdrop,, soon just gone.

A Friday night, three Netflix movies on top of my TV, everyone I know and love at their final destination for the night.

Hot soup on the stove, the love of my life looking for the flannel jammies.

These nights are rare and special, great memories to recall and more in the making.

Bob Jamerson is known Ambassador of Joy (aka Ambassador of Mirth). He was laid off from his job as a flight attendant after September 11 and learned to deal by marching. Looking for something to make himself and those around him feel better, Jamerson has harkened back to his high school days as a drum major and has taken to the streets near his home in central-west St. Louis. Local media have dubbed the baton-carrying, whistle-blowing Jamerson the city's "Ambassador of Joy." He's also confronted hate and intolerance from the few who have viewed his marching with disdain. His daily performances have surprised and delighted most of his neighbors and, much to his amazement, even the local police precinct.

His mission: spreading joy and stopping hate.

There's a great story that was broadcast on Weekend Edition Saturday.

I am at work (sshh).
I just walked down the hallway towards my desk, and was overcome with a great feeling. I work for a great company and I love the folks I work with. I love my job. I am so lucky!!

All the jobs I've had before this were just "work". I know I am fortunate to work for a place that appreciates me and where I love what I'm doing. Having a happy job makes the rest of my life so much more happy too, because no stress filters into my personal life.

Yay for good jobs!! I hope everyone finds one like this some day.

A friendship imploded, terminally I thought, a few months ago.
But apparently not. She and I are taking the first faltering steps towards rebuilding said friendship, initially chatting again on a fairly regular basis, seeing each other in the company of mutual friends, and then last night, just going out for the night together.
I enjoyed it. It made me happy. Well, as happy as I ever get without copious amounts of alcohol and/or pharmaceuticals. Hell, I even danced (albeit to The Smiths!) And I was sober.
A little extra sunlight has returned to my life. Someone to shake me from the insufferable torpor into which I had fallen.
It's nice to have you back...

better all the time

Just a general "yay, I'm so happy!" announcement...I'm feeling especially energetic and positive, humming happy tunes today.

The reason is that I'm feeling so great physically. I've been doing weight training for the last 3 weeks and can already see and feel the difference. My clothes are starting to hang better. My posture is better. I feel more energetic. I feel generally better about myself!

I never felt "bad" about myself really, but it is indeed amazing what a difference some exercise and attention to yourself can make.

Since I feel better, it shows in my face and my demeanor...which in turn gives me more motivation to keep lifting those barbells and crunching those abs. I can't wait to get to the gym.

I highly recommend physical activity to anyone to make you feel good!
